Going by the tagline, The Outdoor School, we offer carefully curated outdoor training and recreational programmes for students, corporates and travellers across all age groups. Our programmes follow an interdisciplinary, experiential, collaborative approach and learning through inquiry across domains of adventure sports, wildlife, community action, nature, art, culture, heritage, field sciences, humanities and life skills.

Since 1994, safety has been an integral part of all our travel programmes. Our uncompromised and stringent safety practices have resulted in a 100% track record of safety. Participant safety remains our paramount concern, and we are committed to providing a secure environment for every trip.

Team

We have a team of highly qualified, safety-focused, passionate, and well-educated professionals who are First Aid certified. They are well organized, detail-oriented, experts in child care, and sensitive to a child's requirements. Additionally, they are subject experts in various areas such as wildlife, biodiversity, adventure sports, history, heritage, environmental science and several others.

Child Protection Policy

For our students' travel programmes, every team member follows a Child Protection Policy. Our comprehensive Child Protection Policy enables us to create a safe and secure environment for our children during trips, promoting their overall well-being and safety.

Standard Operating Procedures

Our Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) prioritise participant safety. Meticulously crafted and regularly updated, our SOP ensures a secure and enjoyable travel experience for every participant.

Accommodation safety

We partner with reputed hotels, resorts and campsites to ensure our participants get a hygienic, clean and a safe stay.

Transportation Safety

We partner with reputable transport agencies that adhere to government regulations. Their vehicles undergo thorough inspections, drivers receive comprehensive training, and the fleet is well-maintained. These agencies also have emergency protocols in place.

Food Safety

We partner with reputable restaurants and food service providers to ensure delicious, high-quality, and hygienic food catering to diverse tastes and specific meal requirements for dine-in and en-route meals. Meals are always planned considering the dietary requirements of our participants. In the case of children, meals are less spicy, focusing on nutritious and child-friendly options with detailed consideration for allergies and specific dietary needs.

Medical and Health provisions

We ensure medical assistance with on-call doctors, fully equipped first aid kits, certified & trained staff, vehicle on call, and prior intimation to the nearest medical centres for prompt and reliable support whenever needed.

Risk Assessment and Reconnaissance

Every site to be visited and equipment used for activities is meticulously risk-assessed periodically by our team.

Emergency Preparedness

We're equipped with first aid training and emergency protocols. Our robust emergency preparedness includes trained staff, communication plans, and rapid response protocols, ensuring participant safety in unforeseen circumstances during your journey.

Feedback and Continuous Improvement

Participant feedback is used to enhance safety measures, improve our content delivery, refine our services, and ensure an exceptional travel experience to participants.

Water policy

We follow a no-swimming policy for our children's outbound programmes. Water sport activities wherever involved are conducted with stringent safety measures, life jackets and under strict supervision of certified and trained instructors.

Environmental Sustainability

Greener Transportation Choices

Whenever possible, we opt for greener alternatives such as premium trains over flights and AC buses for our groups. Local Sourcing

Water Conservation

As part of our sustainability efforts, we've replaced single-use plastic mineral water bottles with reusable mineral water canisters. Participants are encouraged to bring their own refillable water bottles, which they can easily fill up from these canisters.

RANJAN BISWAS

MANAGING DIRECTOR

M.Sc. Animal Physiology, Mumbai University; Diploma in Animal Management and Captive Breeding in Zoos, Jersey Wildlife Preservation Trust, U.K., Certified First Aider.

Ranjan is truly an outdoor person and nature lover. After his academics, he joined WWF India looking after the Western region first as Education Officer and then worked as Deputy Director.

His passion for spreading his love for the outdoors led to the emergence of Trailblazers Adventure Travel Pvt. Ltd. In 1994. He has put over 2,00,000 students, teachers and professionals in touch with nature. He has been certified in Environment Education and trained in Israel at the invitation of MASHAV (Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Israel). He has also worked under the legendary Sir Gerald Durrel.

A passionate Environmentalist with a drive for conservation, Ranjan conceived the first ever Environment Education Centre at Dharavi-the Mahim Nature Park now known as Maharashtra Nature Park. He was on the Advisory board of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation zoological gardens (Rani Baug) and is also an accredited Associate Environmental Auditor ISO 14000. He is also the Trustee of Trailblazers Foundation and Editor of ‘Ecotrail’ magazine.

Ms. Kiran Islania

Kiran, as the Director, has steered the company to make Trailblazers a market leader in outbound education....

Kiran, as the Director, has steered the company to make Trailblazers a market leader in outbound education. With a Master's in English Literature, she has been certified in Environment Education & Public Action and trained in Israel at the invitation of MASHAV (Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Israel). She has conducted outbound travel programmes for more than 1,00,000 students, teachers, families and individuals and corporates from all over India. Her wanderlust has led her to train in adventure programmes focusing on canoeing expeditions in France, kayaking, and windsurfing in Spain, and skiing camps in Switzerland. She is also trained in Environmental Education and Public Action from Israel.

Kiran is an avid trekker and has led groups to Uttarakhand and Kailash Mansarovar, besides leading Trailblazers skiing programmes in Switzerland, mountain biking, and kayaking programmes in Japan, and adventure programmes in France and Spain. Passionate about travelling and backpacking, she has travelled extensively to Italy, Switzerland, Greece, France, Spain, Germany, Austria, Turkey, Israel, Tibet, and Japan and is always dreaming of travelling. She is an advanced level certified alpine skier, a painter, plant lover, trekker, adventure sports enthusiast, traveller, chef, and she is all about enjoying life to the fullest.

Extremely adept with children, Kiran is a delightful person to be around and start a conversation with on any topic under the sun. She is also responsible for getting the Trailblazers team to start eating healthy with her mouthwatering salads.

Aditya is a mechanical engineer and MBA from the National University of Singapore with a passion for outdoor education. He been both a participant and can director on various Trailblazers camps and now supports us in an advisory role.

He loves to work with children and shape young minds. He brings in the gen next thoughts and energy in the organisation. He is a passionate traveller and fun-loving person, an expert certified skier and a huge football fan. Having worked in the manufacturing sector and in project management, he is currently working towards innovative outbound programmes for Trailblazers.

Mr. Jayaraman Vellore is a graduate mechanical engineer with a postgraduate diploma in business management. He also completed advanced management courses at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, and the Kellogg School of Management, USA.

His corporate career spanned over three decades in engineering companies like Precision Fasteners Ltd, Larsen & Toubro Ltd, and BP India. His last stint was with Virgo Valves and Controls Ltd, Pune, where he spent over 20 years. He initially headed Sales and Marketing and later oversaw Manufacturing Operations, Design and Technology, and Expansion Projects.

Post-retirement, he has been mentoring a couple of startup companies based in Pune.

As a founding member of the "Durga Desai Foundation," he actively contributes to impactful initiatives in the fields of education and healthcare, showcasing a strong commitment to philanthropy.
