Project Officers - Foundation (No. of positions open: 2, Age group: 22 - 26 years)

Trailblazers Foundation is scouting for young and motivated candidates to join the organisation's operational team as Project Officers

Candidate profile:
If you have some or all of the following (the last three are strongly desirable):

  • Have organised events / drives / campaigns involving people mobilisation, multiple stakeholder engagement
  • Are between 22 - 26 years old
  • Have two - three years of relevant work experience
  • Possess written and spoken proficiency in Marathi, Hindi and English

Bachelor / Masters of Social Work degree or graduates in Social Sciences with relevant work experience. Candidates having other qualifications in social work, environment, education, skill building, public health etc. may also apply.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • The Project Officer will be required to be on field, for implementing and coordinating a range of activities and initiatives designed to create a positive impact on the environment and local communities in line with the Foundation’s mandate or that of the CSR clients
  • She/he will assist in the planning and budgeting of projects, lead the periodical monitoring processes at the field level; and submit informative reports to document the same
  • She/he will build and maintain engagement with key stakeholders from the Government, corporate sector, start-ups, citizens, community members, peer organisations, educational institutions, etc. to ensure smooth implementation and sustainability of projects
  • She/he will be responsible for building the Foundation's community of volunteers thereby ensuring timely and perennial monetary and non-monetary support to the Foundation’s activities
  • She/he will develop relationships with local media personnel at the intervention sites for cause-related media advocacy
  • She/he will also assist in fundraising by providing inputs to project proposals, managing online crowdsourcing campaigns and harnessing sponsorships
  • As the Foundation is the member of a larger corporate family, the Project Officer will also be required to support the Foundation's parent company in key tasks as and when required
  • She/he will assist the Foundation and the company's visibility and promotion activities by actively contributing to publicity campaigns and social media activities

Manager - Contracting & Operations

  • Evaluate itineraries from connectivity and logistics point of view and provide feedback
  • Identify hotels in each location to cater to different customer segments
  • Negotiate and make deals for annual/seasonal rates on APAI, MAPAI basis for identified and existing hotels
  • Build relationships with all hotels to ensure maximum scope of service including complementary recces, payment terms, commissions from FITs, extra services
  • Database management of hotel, bus, train ticket booking agents, airlines, snacks and local transport, printing, merchandise and other vendors
  • Ensure all services are provided as per the agreement and the best possible experience is guaranteed to meet Trailblazers standards
  • Constantly evaluate all vendors and look for new and better ones in all locations
  • Advise sales and content team on availability and best times to travel to certain destinations and suggest alternatives
  • Gather and collate data on all vendors used and rates given
  • Connect with airlines, train ticket agents and negotiate for best rates
  • Booking of hotels including all arrangements required during Trailblazers programs with ample variety in menu and full set of services as per Trailblazers standards for camps
  • Booking of airlines, trains, bus and ensuring promised services are being provided at the best possible rates
  • Making all travel arrangements for sales visits, recces, conferences and events organized by Trailblazers
  • Manage payments to be made to all vendors
  • Identify trends in the industry, participate in tourism fairs, create partnerships with wide network of vendors and tourism boards
  • Identify and tie up with international vendors, DMCs who can execute Trailblazers packages
  • Liaison and develop more partners like Nature Connect/GIO etc to broaden the Trailblazers network
  • Execute content related tieups such as safaris, schools, other government or private institutes, safaris etc which might be called for as per the itinerary
  • Create and manage all contracts with vendors and ensure the best set of vendors is always available to Trailblazers

  • 5 years experience in the travel industry or relevant roles
  • Self motivated and ability to work without supervision
  • Self starter and innovator to help improve processes and constantly contribute to the growth of the company
  • A keen attention to detail without losing sight of the big picture
  • Ability to multitask
  • Commitment to the role and willingness to take end to end responsibility of all tasks
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
  • Ability to build and lead a small team - prior experience preferred
  • Comfortable with some level of ambiguity
  • Willing to travel for considerable amounts of time when required

Camp Directors (No. of positions open 4) & Camp Instructors (No. of positions open 6)

The role will include but is not limited to:
  • Traveling with groups of students to various destinations across India and International
  • Job involves researching and developing learning modules for students depending on the need of the curriculum and the client requirements
  • Learning how to maintain student flow and programme fluidity
  • Assisting with the safe and efficient organisation of large group movements in a variety of field trips such as historical trips, adventure camps, mountain treks, wildlife trips, history and culture trips etc.
  • Management of client expectations in terms of professionalism, service, delivery and programme objectives
  • Assisting in the logistics of school programmes (supplier contact for accommodation, food or transport)

The ideal candidate would have:
  • A university degree of graduation or Post graduation or Masters in Management Studies
  • First aid certification (or the willingness to obtain one prior to start date)
  • Exceptional command over English, local language and Hindi
  • Hardworking and enthusiastic attitude
  • Good interpersonal skills and communication skills
  • Approachable and with a pleasant personality
  • Willingness to work longer hours
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring physical exertion, outdoors, in all weather conditions and on difficult terrain
  • Multitasking, ability to think ahead and have a high level of general awareness
  • Hospitable, compassionate and must have patience while interacting with children and elders
  • Physically fit and mentally strong

  • Open to do sales/Marketing during off season which will be personalised visits to clients, tele - sales, training, administrative work
  • Candidate should be well read
  • 2 years’ experience of camping, teaching and or travelling
  • Valid driver’s license of 2 and 4 wheel drive
  • Age group 23 - 30 yrs

Growth in the company
All Camp Instructors get to the position of Assistant Camp Director and then Camp Director in due to course of time. All Camp Directors get to the top management position, including the core group and then as Head of Operations. If you have the ability to grasp you can be at the helm of the company holding the top job.

Social Marketing Executive (No. of position open 1, Age group between 20 to 25 years)

Person should be an excellent and independent communicator and know the skills set required to use all the social marketing tools. The person must be fun loving willing to camp out and take leadership position, The intent is to increase Trailblazers presence in the social marketing space. He, she will be given immense freedom and will be measured by increase in sales figures due to the social marketing presence.

Sales Executive (No. of position open 3)

We are looking for hardcore sales person visiting educational institutions to promote, strategize sales of Trailblazers products. Graduates with an management degree or BBM with at least 4 years’ of experience in solid sales backed with performance. Having sales experience in selling educational products will be an asset.

Position: Manager-CSR
Location: Thane

Trailblazers Foundation setup in 2014 and supported by Trailblazers Adventure Travel Private Limited, works in the sphere of education & research, capacity building in schools, environment, sustainable development, climate change, health, wild life and promotion of fundamental science amongst our society. We seek applications for the position of Corporate Social Responsibility Manager (Female or Male) in the age group of 28 to 35 years.

You should have a Bachelors or Master’s degree in social work from a reputed university with at least 3 years’ experience in working with local communities, rural or urban with excellent communication and presentation skills in English and local language, willingness to travel and work on varied issues of Health, education, skill building, environment and wildlife and have skills in fund raising, writing proposals, programme monitoring and evaluation skill sets.

You will be responsible for defining and developing the strategies that align with the objectives of the Foundation and CSR objectives of the Clients (companies, gram panchayats, local communities and the objectives of the government), implementing projects and reporting,  developing policies, creating detailed plans, building relationships with partner organisations (companies, Local government bodies ) and implementing and coordinating a range of activities and initiatives designed to create a positive impact on the environment and local communities. You will also be responsible for raising funds, budgeting and building awareness, marketing and generating publicity, recruiting, managing and training junior staff members.  We will be creating a think tank and you will help start the process.
